Enjoy the quiet and slow pace of life at beautiful Divar Island which is surrounded by Mandovi river. An ideal location for exploring prominent places in both South and North Goa. Take ferry rides through the island, taste delicious authentic Goan cuisine, visit fishing spots and walk through a country-side dotted with beautiful villas, paddy fields and hills.

The home has three large bedrooms with attached bathrooms, two small bedrooms, one dining hall, one living room, a functional kitchen and a lawn. It can easily accommodate 10 people.

PEOPLE: Owned by Mr. Menezes who has now moved to South Goa. Run and managed by Mr. Francis who also owns a bar and restaurant nearby.

FOOD: Small restaurants serving Goan delicacies. Try out the fish curry rice thali with cold beer. There are a few local women groups on the island who also prepare homely food. It can be arranged on prior notice.

  • Go island hoping on a bicycle. Get into the heart of Goa and explore the tranquil islands of Chorao, Divar and Vanxim.
  • Visit hill top church for a sunrise and breathtaking view of the island.
  • Spot crocodiles from a boat.
  • Spend some time at the world heritage church and take a walk around other historical sites.
  • Drive to Mayam lake and opt for some water sports.
  • Visit a local bakery and taste fresh handmade sweets.
  • Try your hand at Fishing.
  • Volunteer at an old age home and/or a primary school.

Divar island can be reached by a ferry ride on three sides.
Nearest Airport is about 35 km away. Closest railway stations are Karmali (11 km), Thivim (20 km) and Madgaon (45 km) in that order. Nearest bus stand is Panjim.
